List of products by brand Castello del Terriccio

The Castello del Terriccio estate is located in Castellina Marittima, in the province of Pisa. In this hilly area, viticulture dates back to the Etruscan times, which between 800 and 500 BC. dominated this stretch of Tuscany. The ruins of the castle of Doglia, called del Terriccio, are of medieval origin. Strategically positioned on top of the hills, it served as a sighting tower for enemy ships.

The modern history of Castello del Terriccio begins in the postwar period, when the estate was acquired by the counts Serafini Ferri. Until the 1970s, the estate was still known mainly for its cereal activity, but over time it has been surpassed in notoriety and importance by the cultivation of vineyards destined for the production of fine wines: from 25 hectares planted with vines in 1980 to the current ones 60. Only the most suitable parcels were chosen for viticulture, with the best exposure to the sun and sea breezes.
