An intense and muscular Barolo from the Ginestra cru in Monforte d’Alba. Ciabot Mentin is one of Domenico Clerico’s most iconic wines, made from Nebbiolo grown on fossil-rich Sant’Agata marl soils. Despite the climatic challenges, the 2014 vintage produced a deep and complex wine with excellent aging potential.

Description and characteristics

Tasting notes: The nose reveals rose petals, hibiscus, black tea, red apple, dark cherry, plum, cranberry, spices, graphite, forest floor, tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, with muscular tannins, lively acidity, and medium density. The finish is long and assertive, with notes of earth, spice, and dried red fruits.
