A deep and vibrant Barolo from the Ginestra cru in Monforte d’Alba. Ciabot Mentin is one of Domenico Clerico’s signature wines, made from Nebbiolo grown on fossil-rich Sant’Agata marl soils. The 2013 vintage is considered one of the best for balance and aging potential.

Description and characteristics

Tasting notes: The nose reveals cedar, dark fruits, damp earth, black tea, licorice, and black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with dense tannins and vibrant acidity. Additional layers of espresso, tar, aromatic herbs, and ripe red fruits add complexity and depth. The finish is long, balsamic, and mineral.
