The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna di Pianrosso Santa Caterina d’Oro 2012 by Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona is a wine of rare elegance and complexity, made exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown in the “Pianrosso” cru, located between 240 and 360 meters above sea level on marl-rich soils.
After a long maceration, the wine is aged in large oak barrels for an extended period, followed by further bottle refinement. It shows a ruby red color with garnet reflections and an intense, complex bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, aromatic herbs, and ethereal hints. On the palate, it is warm, harmonious, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a very long finish. Perfect with roasts, game, aged cheeses, or as a meditation wine. Serve at 18°C in large crystal glasses.
