List of products by brand Pian dell'Orino

Pian dell'Orino is a Tuscan winery in Montalcino, which stands next to the “Greppo” of the Biondi Santi family. A project that came to life at the end of the last century, when exactly in 1996 it was Caroline Pobitzer who started it all, entrusting the company management to the careful hands of the oenologist Jan Hendrik Erbach.

The vineyards, aged between five and thirty-six years, have been planted exclusively with Sangiovese grapes and are processed following a natural philosophy, following the rules of the organic certification issued by ICEA. With the utmost respect for the environment, nature, biodiversity and the ecosystem, each agronomic choice is prudent and adopted in order to harvest, harvest after harvest, healthy and pure bunches, rich and concentrated in every smallest organoleptic nuance. The six hectares of vineyards are divided into two parcels: Pian dell'Orino, located at 480 meters above sea level, where the soils are clayey and rich in marl, and Pian Bassolino, where the soils are mostly characterized by marl limestone. In the cellar, the carefully selected grapes are de-stemmed and then vinified, left to ferment exclusively by indigenous yeasts alone. Finally, aging takes place in modern rooms made with recycled materials, such as clay, wood, lime and stones from the vineyards themselves. The bottles produced annually are about 22 thousand, divided into three labels: Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and “Piandorino”, an IGT wine made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Wines that tell of the highest excellence of the Ilcinese lands.
