Italy is a nation that can boast an incredible winemaking tradition, which in some cases is lost in the mists of time. Abruzzo is no exception, a small region of central Italy, whose wines were already renowned and well-known in Roman times. A strongly suited terroir, which expresses truly noteworthy realities, just like the Valentini farm.

Located in Loreto Aprutino in the province of Pescara, one of the 300 most beautiful villages in Italy, it is owned by the noble family of the same name of Spanish origin, which produced in these areas since the seventeenth century; from generation to generation, the ownership of the winery is today in the hands of Francesco Paolo Valentini, a person of great depth, a true artisan of wine, who loves to let his creations speak directly in the glass.

Today the company is spread over 65 hectares of vineyards, where the great classics of the area, Trebbiano and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, are grown. In the vineyard the approach is highly artisanal - Francesco Paolo has his own natural philosophy that cannot be labeled with either the organic or biodynamic "logo" - and we do not carry out weeding or treatments with systematic products, using only sulfur and copper .

In the same way, only natural decanting is carried out in the cellar, using the yeasts already present on the skin of the berries. It is a real life choice, risky, so much so that when the wines do not reflect the very high quality standards set, they do not come on the market, even for different vintages.

The yields are very low, and from the 65 hectares cultivated only 50,000 bottles are obtained per year, divided between Trebbiano, Cerasuolo and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Incredible products, natural wines, from which all the beauty of the Abruzzo terroir emerges, which are born following the wise words of Francesco Paolo: "I look and let Mother Nature take its course, everything already exists, you just have to let it emerge".
