Jean Joseph Moreau, a young cooper, opened a shop in Chablis in 1814 and married the daughter of a local wine producer: this is how the company was born which, for two centuries, has been a reference in Chablis. The Moreau family, which manages the oldest winery in the region, now owns 300 parcels of vineyards in which, with audacity and without compromise, they challenge a hostile terroir, seeking the maximum exaltation of chardonnay.

During the vinification we try to bring out and protect the most delicate traits of the chardonnay; with great sensitivity, wine is viewed as a living product and, therefore, extremely fragile, whose potential must be protected as much as possible. What characterizes the cellar is a great mastery in the aging in wood, carried out in carefully selected barrels with very fine grain and medium toasting, so as to emphasize the native terroir, reveal its complexity and not mask it. Ultimately, the wines are authentic and very pure; in them a subtle minerality and an intense fruit, aromatic structure and complexity, as well as a slightly smoky note are enhanced. Each cuvée, therefore, is a reflection of its terroir of origin and the entire range of wines is an invitation to discover the incredible mosaic that the Chablis region offers
