List of products by brand Capannelle

The first label dates back to 1975: it is a table wine simply named Capannelle. This first trial, will lead the winery to emerge in the panorama of quality producers, thanks to the careful management of the vineyards and the use of modern technologies. In 1977, barriques from the French Massif Central were introduced, which within a few years became a cult among wine lovers. In 1986 experimentation on white wine began: after two years our Capannelle Chardonnay fermented and aged in barriques was born.

The history of the Capannelle winery began in 1974 when entrepreneur Raffaele Rossetti moved into an old 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by 10.5 hectares of land in Gaiole in Chianti, the birthplace of Chianti Classico wine.

After careful analysis, work begins on a new planting of 3.5 hectares of specialized vineyards with native grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia nera. Two hectares are arranged to accommodate the olive grove.

The farmhouse is being renovated and restored to its former glory with skillful structural and restorative interventions. New features include the introduction of a new kitchen, where renowned chefs pair Capannelle wines with their creations, and a large tasting room featuring a 6-meter-long 17th-century fratina.

A state-of-the-art wine cellar with state-of-the-art stainless steel connections and piping for the technology of the time is also being set up under the farmhouse.
